Waxing Nostalgic

After reading this post on Christie's site about the game World of Pirates last night, "good ol' Doctor J" (  ) waxed nostalgic on simpler days, and wound up launching into would-be prose-song in the comments section.   Yeah, I know; shades of Baz Luhrmann's "Everybody's Free" (video here) but also bits of the Van Morrison tune, "In The Days Before Rock 'n' Roll" (co-written and co-performed with Irish poet Paul Durcan) from the 1990 Enlightenment album.   Chances are, you don't know the latter; unlike the former, it didn't get much airplay, even though it was released as a single in the UK-- one of the small little prizes in my CD collection.   Pick up the Enlightenment album (unfortunately, I can't find a link to the song online; help anyone?).   The album seems almost ageless, in part because it's so nostalgic in its premise; it's perfect Sunday morning music.  ~~In the days.....~~
