More Onomastopoeia?

Imre Salusinszky's triad of columns on ironically-named professionals has a few doozies in them, but my favourite bit comes at the end of the second piece, as he attends to the criticism that this gimmick has been done before. Imre's measured, polite response?

Several readers, by the way, point out that the New Scientist ran a popular column on this names and jobs theme for many years; one of those readers even accuses me of "reinventing the wheel".

First point, I have no plan to submit any of this material in fulfilment of the requirements for a PhD. Second point, it just goes to prove the old saying that you can please some the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you'll never please a bunch of callous bastards who have no idea what it's like to bleed your heart and soul onto this page twice a week.

Which also explains why I'll be returning to this subject for a third, and final, time on Thursday.
Priceless. (Besides, by the way, Imre already has his Ph.D.)

ADDENDUM: Reading such stuff, I count myself lucky, indeed. For a pseudo-academic, I have to have one of the best surnames ever.
