 | Oh, guess what was on last night.... There's something about watching a movie on a normal TV schedule-- probably the serendipity factor-- that's very different than playing a tape or a DVD. Watching the film again for what must have been the twentieth or the thirtieth time, I was struck by a thought-- that we don't have many people in movies like Captain Renault anymore. We know there are no real Ricks (just wannabes, and even they're occasional), but no real Renaults? You'd think that in this very cynical day and age we'd be resplendent with them. |
