It's A Hard-Knock Life

From the front page of today's Hamilton Spectator:

Rage Against Liberals Scaring Off Volunteers

Local Liberal candidates are having trouble getting volunteers willing to be yelled at-- or even curses-- when they carry the party's message door-to-door.
Liberal volunteers say they are having trouble recruiting people because of increasing anger at the party. Veteran Liberal politicians who had been sitting on the sidelines are suddenly being called upon to work for Tony Valeri in Hamilton-East-Stoney Creek.
Canvassers say the party is falling back on a phone campaign in some areas because it's safer [emphasis added] than risking face-to-face tirades. All candidates say voters are cursing and lashing out at the Liberals when volunteers come canvassing.
'Tis to laugh. Not only are the Liberals afraid of the electorate, they're AFRAID of the electorate.

I love the smell of napalm in the morning.
