We Knew It Was Bad But...

Box Office reports from the US are in for the past weekend, and even though we all knew Gigli was going down faster than Ricky Martin after a sweaty night of living la vida loca, who knew it was this bad: this weekend, it raked in a piddly $700,000 in its second week, despite showing in 2,215 theatres. Contrast this with the opening of the independent comedy Le Divorce, which earned $500,000 in a mere 34 theatres. Check out, too, the floundering of Charlies Angels 2 and Legally Blonde 2 which, despite each showing in more than a thousand theatres, still managed to earn less than Bend It Like Beckham and 28 Days Later. Ouch. Check out the other stats here.
