Ignition Indignation

Now, I'm no fan of motorsports, but you'd think the puritans in our governments would realize that their policies on tobacco laws have gone past prohibitive and are now detrimental to local and national economies. God save us from the 'holier than thou.' Check out this article from the BBC on Montreal's loss of the Formula One race. Don't goverments have more serious things to worry about?

And it figures that the anti-smoking lobby is blaming the tobacco companies for the loss. I agree with Formula One here, and not just because I'm a smoker: when legislation becomes prohibitive to sponsors, of course you're going to avoid places that have enacted such legislation. Whatever happened to legislative tolerance?????

And, of course, dear Lord, we're all so weak-minded that seeing cars with cigarette logos will corrupt all of us into buying cigarette packs by the truck load. Come on. This is bloody ridiculous.
