Catch-All

NYTimes Sunday X-word, "Catch-All," by Jim Page, is a strange brew. There are some clever clues, but there's a lot of desperate cluing going on, and the puzzle will no doubt isolate non-Americans. Although it didn't really take long to finish, I can't say that I particularly enjoyed doing it; the theme, 'etc,' is dull and uninspired. "Lascars"? C'mon; that's just a little too obscure, I think.
