I’m glad you went there first, I was trying to decide this morning if posting these links (1 and 2) would be tantamount to a virtual purple-nurple.

100 million years? I'm sure I'm a lot closer to that than Dr. J :)

Re: the Austen portrait, it reminds me of the most famous George Eliot portrait, which is flattering, to say the least.

Too kind, RB, too kind....

As for the portrait: a little Austentatious, don't you think?

Dr. J, I wasn't being kind, but merely telling the truth :) I sometimes wonder whether i should just join the brotherhood since I'm already one step up from most of them.

Austentatious! That's gold. Reminds me of one day years ago when i was using the actual work (ostentatious), and a friend, with some impatience, said "use words besides those that start with A".

ooh nice, no wonder you like the penis/pitchfork idea ;)

hey, some poor college in oxford still has a portrait of bill clinton which they had in the dining hall, it miraculously disappeared after the lewinsky scandal broke, wonder where that portrait's languishing...

Perhaps, j, they discovered the portrait had developed a tapioca stain?

(Yes, I will no go off and be properly ashamed of myself. Sooner or later.)
