Pro Serviam?

      Wow.   My regular readers here know that Doctor J's relationship with all things computeruhmated is at best strained and at worst down-right adversarial.   How adversarial? At least Milton's Satan only insisted that he would not serve.   This morning, however, I downloaded a patch from Microsoft.   Now, you'd think that with constantly checking to see if there are any relevant updates from Bill Gates' Megalith of Evil I'd receive notice to download this patch-- but natch, nay, nary and never.   Thanks, however, to a programme called BigFix my computer this morning is humming along at a (comparatively) brisk pace, a pace bordering on-- dare I say it? dare I risk jinxing myself?-- fast.   I am surprisingly content.   I am almost enjoying using this computer.   I am almost.... *he pauses and issues a furtive, guilty look*   Almost.   Go figure.
