The Democratic Age

As most of you know, the Dubsters have been suggesting that John Edwards is too young and too inexperienced to be Vice-President (and possibly President) of the United States.   John Edwards was born 10 June 1953, making him 51.   Now that is on the young-ish side, at least historically, though it says nothing of his abilities or qualifications.   George W. Bush, however, was born on 6 July 1946, making him (just-turned) 58.   When he was running for the Presidency in 2000, he would thus have been 54.   I guess, however, those three years made all the difference and conferred upon Mr. Bush the wisdom, intelligence and experience to be President.

For the record, check out the official White House biography of President Bush. Notice that the article does not mention that the President was elected, or by how much.
